St. John was awesome as well. We rented a villa/cottage this past summer off of VRBO with our own personal pool on a mountainside overlooking Chocolate Hole. 5 min from Cruz Bay by jeep for bars/restaurants. Most of the time we just grilled out and made our own meals. Rented a dinghy one day and went from beach to beach with a few in the morning with nobody else on them. Did a BVI excursion on the Bad Kitty which is a Speed Catamaran and went to 4 different islands in 1 day.

I was set on buying property somewhere around Providenciales on TCI until I went to St John. Now we are torn between the two as the beaches at TCI are unparalleled and that includes Trunk Bay.

We are going to TCI in March and St John at the end of May. I doubt that either trip cements our decision. They are both wonderful in their own way although the interior of St John is much more beautiful than the scrub found inland on TCI.

Did you rent from Noah's Little Arks when you rented the dinghy? They're the little hut attached to the beach side of Beach Bar. A friend of mine owns that business.
