Obviously there is a lot to be excited about with the current team, but it is worth pointing out that this is all being done with another coaches recruits.
This freshman class of players is his first class that he brought in here and seems to be the best in recent memory.
Coach JJ is recruiting big time national prospects, and I can't wait to see what this team looks like in a few years when he is playing with his players.
A lot to be excited about for a while to come!

Mickey, Martin, and Coleman were all CJJ, and he convinced O'Bryant to come back another year and talked Malik into staying put.
Stringer and Hickey are very good players and fit perfect, but it's not like they are world beaters and the reason for the rise in the program.

I get your overall gist, but in reality this is not true. Mickey, Martin, Quarterman are all on CJJ.
JOB3 wanted to leave and CJJ helped him by getting him to stay.
Of course, when you're 1.5 years into your tenure, you don't have the luxury - or hindrance - of all your recruits.
This turnaround is all on CJJ. And I think it's only going to get better.

Half this team was recruited by Johnny Jones. The big difference makers like Coleman, Martin and Mickey are what are separating us from mediocre back to being a tournament team again.

I didn't mean this to sound like CJJ is living off of someone elses players. should have clarified. The players he did bring in are already having a huge impact on the game.
My main point was that this will be a very dangerous team when the whole team is guys that CJJ brought in

If LSU makes the NCAAT, we're a 1st round and 2nd round nightmare matchup for most opponents.

I think we can all agree to this.
If everyone but JOB III return for next season, we are going to be really, really good.

cjj has done a great job on the recruiting front and he does seem to adapt when needed in coaching philosophy. I was perhaps a bit harsh on his x and o when we were in the funk a few weeks ago. The real key to a great LSU team is cjj locking down our state. he keeps the best kids home and we will be fine and then sprinkle in guys like mickey and tq from out of state and we are balling.

Yeah CJJ received a lot of heat with ranters calling for his job just a few weeks ago. Glad to see him proving them wrong. The excitement continues to build.

Yep, the true rantards really stood out then.
When CJJ gets 'his' type team together, I think we're in for a great ride with him at the helm.

Darcy Malone is on the team and played today. Unless you're talking about Ben Simmons, he is a junior in high school.
