Stewart routinely, like most Americans, calls the ACA "Obamacare" on his show.

Three weeks before her appearance on the show, Pelosi made a point about calling out a reporter for using the word "Obamacare".

In this interview, Stewart says "Obamacare", then quickly corrects himself and then uses the term "Affordable Care Act". (No joke was attached, it was part of a serious question.)

Point to ponder: (a) Would Pelosi have called out Stewart on his own show had he not corrected himself and (b) did Stewart correct himself specifically because he was interviewing Pelosi and so much has been made about her strong dislike for the word?

I'm guessing (a) is no and (b) is yes, and if asked about it later, Pelosi would simply say she hadn't noticed he said "Obamacare" and thus didn't reprimand him, and Stewart would say he corrected himself because he didn't want to take away from the integrity of the question he was posing. Both would have been fibbin'.

I would consider it a good interviewing skill when you accomodate the little things for your interviewee in order to avoid her steering off topic and to preserve the relationship for more interviews.
