When most people think of "Europe" they think of Britain, France, and Germany, which form the core of the EU, plus Holland, Belgium, Switzerland, and the Scandinavian countries. Maybe Italy as well, depending on how you define it.

Greece is almost Middle Eastern and is more like Turkey than like Northern Europe....Spain has been a backwater since the 16th Century. Both were latecomers to the EU, which probably regrets having admitted them at this point.

are you literally trying to redefine what countries constitute Europe? Yeah if you could just cherry pick France and Germany, oh wait, those places suck hard

The Spanish navy was at their height in the 16th century and was rich from colonizing the Americas.
