Everyone thinks farmers are the big dogs in the market. "Look at the prices of soybeans and corn. Man, wish I was a farmer". Farmers are the bottom feeders yet the American farmers support nearly 3/4 of the worlds population. Everyone feeds off the farmers, fertilizer companies or seed companies. Then prices plummet and farmers are still being fed off. Then throw in a drought like the Midwest 2012. If you get that a weather episode across the whole country that disrupts all the crops. You'll be thankful farmers have government support bc your $10 hr job will put food on your plate.

Bingo...the real issue isn't the farmers IMHO, it's your Cargill, Louis Dreyfus, etc...they are the big movers and shakers.

They are the ones that influence international trading policy and national policy for that matter.
