I've used Turbo Tax for many years now and a couple of years ago heard a little nugget that will probably keep me using it for a long time more.
One of my project team's developers used to work for Intuit on TT. He said that Intuit works so closely with the IRS that if they put the wrong interpretation of a law in the software, IRS auditors will generally just go along with it.
His words, not mine - but I found it reassuring.

not really surprising. Can you imagine the work the IRS would have to put in to get it right? Crazy how many people use turbotax.
