When I was a brand new Peds nurse I got sick all the time. Eventually built up a stronger immunity.
I go still get sick but get over it fairly quickly. I also exercise regularly; learn to manage my stress; get the flu shot every year. Am up to date on all my immunizations(including the whooping cough booster shot you need as an adult).
And on our floor our kids are placed on various isolation depending on what they have and I follow the rules on what to wear for each isolation. I also wash my hands very frequently and use the hospital hand sanitizer during my shift.

you mean like different types of masks are required to prevent different illnesses or what?....
