How do medical professionals not get sick constantly?

I went to a local medical clinic today :noherp: and was kind of grossed out to see a waiting room just packed with folks who all looked like they had the flu....frickers were all throwing up, shivering with fever, etc....grossed me out so bad, I just rescheduled my appointment and left...
my question is, how the hell do doctors and nurses keep from constantly catching illnesses from patients that come in with this kind of thing all day?....

Superior genetics.

We're around it nonstop so our immunity is through the roof. People that are germophobes and constantly wash their hands are the ones that get sick.

They wear masks and clean their hands and rooms after each patient

they probably get sick often when they first start, until their body builds up antibodies.
you can't get the same cold/flu twice.

They write their own scripts immediately after detecting sudden symptoms.

I get sick sometimes but I'm pretty good at getting over it really quickly.

It's true. Worked in the hospital 14 years. Haven't been sick once the past 9-10. I never wear a mask and wash my hands only after using the restroom or when I touch some nasty patient.

He washes his hands after every room he enters because all of those humans are gross, plus there's this whole thing of not transferring stuff to other patients.
Scruffy out.

I'm pretty sure that after 2 months at Children's, I'll never get sick again.
I'm also pretty sure I was sick for about 6/8 weeks that I was at Children's.
