The only ones that are rejected are either too short (have to be 7" long) or seriously rotten. Frozen, then thawed the day before turning them in is preferred. Also, don't try to turn in possum or muskrat tails (happens often).

There are designated drop-off places where the tails are counted and collected. You'll get a receipt of sorts, then your check will come in the mail a couple weeks later.

Berwick landing on Tuesdays, Houma civic center parking lot on Wednesdays, Luling on Thursdays, Slidell and Abbeville pickups alternate.

Not rotten is what I meant. I had a friend try to turn in some road kill once.
