Colt Lyerla?

Dude was a beast it's sad to see he's ruining his life. They said he's still preparing for the draft. Honest question is he going to end up in jail or is he good to go? Also do you think a team will take a chance on him besides the patriots?
Pretty sure the Pats are going for Amaro or Ebron

I posted about him earlier today, but I would love to take a chance on him, if he has his head straight.
TE from Oregon, who before last season was being projected as a 1st round pick. He had some issues with maturity, and ended up dropping out of school to "train for the draft." After that he got busted with coke.
I think he only ended up with a 10 day sentence, which I am not sure if he has served already or not.
The guy is a great football player, and can line up anywhere (H-back, in line, out wide), but his off the field issues may be too much for a team like the Saints. If he can get his shite together, he can be a Vontaze Burfict-type steal for a team.

TE's with off the field issues might be in for longer wait than usual.

Thanks bro. I was thinking the same thing. If he straightens up he could be a major steal, but too big of a risk for us to draft

Would you pick him up as an undrafted free agent?

He's most likely going undrafted, unless he really impresses at the combine, which is the one thing Burifct failed to do after having a lot of issues prior to the combine (blamed his problems on ASU's staff).
Even if that happens, I don't think he goes about the 5th. Personally, I would take a chance on him as a UDFA, being that we wouldn't have much invested in him, but I doubt he ends up in New Orleans. If he does end up here, and can stay out of trouble, he could do great things.

I don't know why. We don't need him.

Because he's 100x more talented than Josh Hill. If he is successful with us he could allow us to save money by releasing a 34 year old Ben Watson after next year. Plus, what do you really have to lose acquiring an undrafted FA with 1st round talent?

He wont go undrafted. Chip would take him with his last pick. Guy is a freak athlete. Just needs to grow up.

True. I just hope the guy doesn't waste his shot at a career, he's pretty talented. His public "disagreement" with Helfrich this year is probably as much of a turn off to team as his problem with the booger sugar. If Chip takes him, they'll have a pretty damn good 2 TE set with him and Ertz for years.

Colt Lyerla was called the Best All-around Athlete coming out of HS since Julius Peppers'
Freakish...even lined up a a lil' bit at Tailback Brandon Jacobs-style...16 career carries...94 yards...2 TD's...nearly 6.0yd avg per carry
I thought he should have stayed on defensive side of ball at OLB... lined up next team-mate NFL All-Pro Rookie Kiko Alonso.
Somebody will take him...after all Pac Man Jones is still in the NFL
