If you look at it from a game theory perspective, then it makes sense that all of these guys are coming out. If they don't see any significant increase in expected income by staying, why stay?

This brings up an interesting scenario: if we decide to pay college athletes, will that incent them to stay, and if not at which level do they consider staying?

oh i agree. i said as much earlier, just slightly different. the question is more why they didn't use to do this in the past b/c the "late round" guys (who compromise the vast majority of this list, i'd imagine) have no real advantage today than in the old CBA

ignoring the title 9 issues, colleges will not be able to pay anything comparable for these kids
