US automotive safety regulators Tuesday classified as a recall Tesla Motors Inc’s move to provide upgraded wall adaptors and charging software, citing the risk of fire
quote:
Tesla never used the words “recall” or “fire” in Friday’s announcement
quote:
last November, Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk said a recall related to the 3 road fires was not necessary. turns out it is for all 29,222 EVs that were produced in the 2013 model year.

You do know GM and ford have recalls all the time also right? This company is brand new of course they will have some bugs to work out. Give it a rest

Toyota laughs at only 29,000 recalls.

My Chevy dealer won't use the word "recall" either...when I ask if there have been any recalls on my car, they correct me and say that they do not have any "service advisories" or something like that.
Semantics.
Semantics.

Well, to be fair. It is EVERY vehicle that Tesla made, so percentage wise, Toyota is probably laughing

jealous they can't afford one

why would Toyota be laughing when they are one of Tesla's major backers?

the article said it was the 2013 model S
The software upgrade was done via download, and the charging adapters were mailed to customers. Most convenient recall ever

Try to stay up
quote:
A top Toyota executive called out Tesla's Elon Musk and two other rival car company execs on Tuesday
quote:
In a word war that's intensifying around future green car technologies, Bob Carter named Tesla Motors Inc. founder Musk, Nissan Motor Co. CEO Carlos Ghosn and former Volkswagen exec Jonathan Browning as "naysayers"
quote:
Personally I don't really care what Elon and Carlos and Jonathan have to say
quote:
The sharp comments come as the race to develop the next generation green car escalates. Toyota Motor Corp. invests heavily in fuel cells while Tesla, Nissan and Volkswagen concentrate efforts on electric vehicles

How about you start linking your articles? Tesla and Toyota have a partnership either way. Why do you only use part of the quote? That disagreement has nothing to do with this
The upgrade to the software was done via download, and they mailed the charging adapters. Another small issue in a new line of cars that you completely overplay

So 29,000 of the over 254 million vehicles in the United States needed an upgrade and a part mailed out.
I fail to see how this is big news.

Best sales quarter to date, and this won't break them. And Paul Walker, you lying stooge. You lose again.
Posted on 1/15/14 at 7:47 pm to redstick13
tesla is awesome. that is all

I'm not the one that labeled it a recall. NHTSA did that. Complain to them

Because apparently, Teslas suck and are dangerous fire hazards and we should stick with cars that run on good ol' gasoline!!1

And Paul Walker
Paul died while sitting in the garage in his car? News to everyone. This recall is about garage fires caused by the Tesla charging system
The road hazard fires are still under investigation, and could lead to yet another Tesla recall
