Expressing Every Little Worry

It's easy to reach the conclusion that today's fans are bigger crybabies than those of two or three decades before. However, in the time before the Internet and access to bulletin boards, us "worriers" basically had to "suffer" alone. Conversely, in the modern world, any body who feels a twinge of unhappiness can promptly go to the Tiger Rant and whine until they get it out of their systems.
Recently, a lot of crybabies can't help but express their discontent over the facts: (1) that our QB who played in the recent bowl game simply didn't instill confidence, which means, to them, that we will suck next year;(2)that LSU has not gotten committments from every single one of the high school seniors that this or that fan proclaims as top notch; (3) that too many of our undergraduate players are "leaving early", which, to them, signals a serious problem with our coaching staff; and (4)that Alabama seems to be hiring assistant coaches who will be unsurpassed experts during the recruiting process.
If everyone would just stop and wait a few hours or so before launching into a "I don't feel well because things aren't going perfectly at LSU" complaint, perhaps the number of whining messages would decrease. Give consideration to the fact that, in the scheme of things, college sports just isn't a life and death matter.
But, this is just wishful thinking. Worrywart and crybabies gonna fret and cry out loud. They seek the "comfort" of knowing that - somewhere out there - someone feels just like they do. I wish they'd all grow up, though.

Right on.
Also, bitching about everything is pretty girly. More people should speak up against a bunch of grown arse men gathering to whine so damn much. It's like The View and Nancy Grace in here.

The people you call crybabies probably view themselves as involved LSU supporters expressing legitimate concerns.

Dude,
I spend a bunch of money for season tickets football/baseball. Don't know or care about your definition of 'crybaby,' but for my money I'd like to see my teams at least play for 60 minutes (of football) or learn how to play small ball (baseball) if the fences are too far back. Consistency will go a long way with me in 2014, win or lose. Right now, I don't see LSU doing better than third in SEC West. Omaha? We'll see.

the same people who take so much from AJ's bowl game performance were also the quickest to discount JJ's peach bowl game.
let's give the kid an offseason with practicing with the 1's. the light didn't come on for mett until this yr.

You made very valid statements. As someone who is known as a crybaby on here, I would just like to point out that having a disagreement with a coaching decision, or a part of any program, does not automatically mean that the poster wants that coach fired, or that the program is collapsing.
If I think that Mainieri should have brought in a relief pitcher, or given the take sign on a pitch, it doesn't mean that I hate Mainieri and want him fired. I think sometimes other posters on here jump to those conclusions way too quickly.

I recall when wanting Keiland Williams to get more touches automatically made you a Jacob Hester hater.

That's a good point, but some people get too attached to the negative side of things and can't see the forest for the trees. Many would rather feel right about it than happy. (Key word: FEEL) Just that attitude in general grows into a tumor in people's psyche. It's not healthy.
Expressing concerns is cool if you can actually open your mind and look past them now and then.

Shut up already...it's the Rant. It was developed to come on here and talk about shite you want to rant about and have exchanges with those interested in that topic. I'd say it's working pretty well without crybabies like yourself trying to police what other posters want to rant about.
This is and always will be THE RANT. Like it or GTFO and we won't miss you.
Also, this site is NOT a recruiting tool for LSU (thank God)

Now, feel free to haul arse from the Rant if you don't want to read rants.....

No question you're right. I think its comforting for some people to express their concerns from a negative POV anticipating that the actual outcome may be more palatable to them if their concerns prove to be valid.
Its a protection device of sorts. One I've been guilty of in the past.

I think I'm hooked on rant b/c I like to read the crybabies. I don't have drama in my own blissful peaceful life, so I come here to watch people worry.
thanks to all of you who make this fun!
p.s. I know that I'm not real and that I just imagine yall.

Yet you have an account and post here...You post here because you don't give a shite about LSU?
Posted on 1/15/14 at 10:23 am to Eternally Undefeated
This is a good post but not a sign that anything should change. I come here to vent and talk out worries and frustrations. It's therapeutic.
On the flip side, maybe it should be controlled tighter so that the whole place doesn't become a depressing den.

controlled tighter>? make a post that points out something not positive and see how many times you get slammed, insulted etc...one cannot discuss anything on here outside of the sunshine pumping agenda with out being harrassed.

Why, what difference does it make??
Honestly not saying they or you are right, I'm just asking a question..
You're preaching a message of not letting things bother you; yet you let a sect of people bother you.
It is simply words on a message board and you're letting that own you. Like others have said you need to have a little more self awareness and realize what arena/environment you are in.
Seems hypocritical to me.

Herein lies the problem...wanting positive change or improvement in any sports program doesn't automatically make you a hater/whiner/less of a fan....but its perceived that way on this site.
