Haven't looked into 5x5 at all. And I know the primary focus of this thread is to get "swole". Bigger and stronger. But what about cutting up? Simply burning body fat, maintaining LBM or adding some, while getting stronger?
I'm asking as someone who isn't fat, lifts at least 4 times a week, and I lift heavy and hard. Little rest and keep my hear rate up.
Just looking to change things up a bit

I've been lifting for two years now and I'm still not "jacked." My BMR is 4500 calories... so I have to eat 6000+ cal a day just to gain a lb or two a month.
I am, however, ripped as frick. That will have to do until my metabolism slows down a bit.

Use a 5x5 to pack on muscle and diet to cut up.

I would do a 5x5, or other starter program, and watch the diet. It is very hard to get strong when you are dieting.
