Found this pot neglected in my backyard, going to try to get it lined out tomorrow.
Have a lot of tool at my disposal. Don't want to resort to sandblasting, but its an option.

That can be recovered, but it looks like a drive to Academy may be warranted over the work you're going to put into it.

Get a wire brush wheel and put it on a grinder. Ive done this before, it will work.

Is that surface rust only? Or has it started pitting and/or flaking? If it's just surface rust you can get it fixed up in no time.

I would avoid using any mechanical way of restoring it. Too much potential to ruin the pot. Unless it's something you really don't care about (I have a Lodge campfire pot out in my garage that I'd sandblast if needed for instance).

100% this. Not difficult at all, goes really quickly. Took a rusted out 7qt Dutch oven down to bare metal in no time. Seasoned with Crisco, it's a great fried chicken or gumbo pot.
