Adding a CC shouldn't be thought of as "more money I can spend". I would carry the same balance on my CC if I had 1 or 10. Zero. If adding a CC tempts you to spend more, then I agree, don't get it.

I never carry a balance. I mean making decisions based on chasing points. Applying for a card with a $450 fee I won't get much use out of when I will be buying a car this year just to essentially buy points is further down the rabbit hole than I'm comfortable with right now.
