I've been drinking wine and fully read your last post. Give me a minute to understand what I read.
Eta: ok. It you get the Barclay's in the next couple months then I highly doubt it will affect a car 8 months from now. That's a long time in the credit world.
If you need them, then Barclays, car, Chase order will work just fine.
Btw: I like to think it's related, but Chase has given me the best rates on car and house BY FAR since I started doing this. Maybe it's them being competitive, but the discrepancies are vast enough to make me think it's the business I give them.

My payment histories on all of my accounts are flawless. Debt/credit ratio is basically nill. It's simply that, being a relatively young guy, my accounts are fairly young, so I'm a bit cagey about things I know might ding my score. In ten years, I probably wouldn't give this a second thought. But, I've had little trouble getting approved for anything I've asked for in the last couple of years.
As for the need, there really isn't one for the Barclaycard. It's a solid card, $400 is nice, and damn it, I want a new card to play with![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)

I shopped Chase before I bought and they were the best I had before I went to dealer. Ended up with Neighbors FCU as they were running some special and beat Chase by .25%.
