Chase Ink Plus is running the 60k points non-waived annual fee deal again until 5/25:
LINK
I'll be going and applying at a branch in the next few days and will report back on whether they are willing to waive the first year.

Received the Redcard in the mail today. I did a $1,000 test load with Barclay's card. Very easy transaction. I then used the target card to buy a small item (just to check out the function). I will plan on paying some bills with it tonight. So far so good. Extremely easy.

How did you order it? Or did you have a friend pick one up and mail to you?
I am in Louisiana, and there are no target stores that carry them.

I bought it on eBay. The link for the seller is a couple of pages back.

So I've got both the CSP and Chase Freedom but I'm a little ignorant on the transfer of my UR points to travel partners. Do I need to set up an account with say United to transfer those points and really stretch out what I have (since the reward is greater than the 1.25 UR travel redeem amount).
Also, and I know I could probably look this up in like 5 minutes, but if I need to set up an account with United (or SW or BA etc...) does that cost anything? How does all of that work.

You must have a frequent flyer account with the airline. Takes two minutes to do.
You need to first transfer Freedom points to the CSP bucket. You can then transfer those points to your frequent flyer account.

Hey CC gurus. I could use a little advice on if this is a good plan.
The wife and I are planning a trip to Europe in 2016 and we are pretty sure we can use all points.
I have ~500k Marriott points so that should take care of 10-14 nights at Marriott properties in Europe from what I've seen online. We don't know exactly where yet, but I'm not too worried about that part yet.
As far as flights, I only have about 30k united miles, but I have 155k UR points from my sapphire (not preferred). I have always planned on applying for CSP in the near future to get the sign up bonus and then transfer my UR points to United miles. This would get me to 225k+ United miles which should easily be worth 2 round trip economy tickets to Europe. I might be able to get it to first class if I can time it right.
I also have about $1,000 cash back on an Amex Blue Cash Preferred that I plan on using to offset some general spending/dining, etc. on the trip.
So here is the question. I have never been CC churner (have kept all my accounts open) but I am considering doing the United explorer card 50k bonus right now to add some more miles to my United account. Credit Karma has me at about an 800 credit score and it has always been accurate in the past. Should I apply for this, get the bonus miles and eventually cancel, and then apply for the CSP to transfer the UR? Or am I being greedy and should I wait for just the CSP? I assume with an 800, I could get both pretty easily? Would applying for them in a span of 6 months be bad?
Also, most importantly, we are hoping to buy a house in about 2-3 years. Would any of this really impact my score in 2-3 years if I close both accounts in less than a year?
TIA

I'd look into hitting both American Airlines cards right now. That will give you over 100,000 AA miles.
United is also running a promotion for 50k miles.
Your credit score will be fine. I burn though cards all the time and I'm pushing an 800 score.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm probably sticking with United. I'm in Houston and it's much more convenient to fly United than anything else.
Thanks again for the advice. Definitely leaning towards pulling the trigger on the United 50k.

If you and your wife both hit that card you will be set on miles.

Yeah, I thought about that, but the spend would be a little tough. 3k should be cake for us in 3 months. 6k would be pushing it, and I'm a little too lazy to go the bluebird or square route right now.
Not to mention, her credit history is a little more fragile than mine. We've worked to get it up the past few years, and I am hesitant to take any risks with it between now and buying the house.

Looking to take a disney cruise next fall. What would be a good option on getting travel points to pay for this? I saw a few cards that over 40k or 50k sign on bonuses but i just dont want to get the wrong cards if there is a better way that you guys know of. Thanks

The United offer will give you 55k miles if you get the card with your wife as an authorized user. Personally, I wouldn't cancel the card. It gets you a free checked bag and if you fly United a fair amount that can easily justify the annual fee. Your companion will also get a free checked bag provided they are booked on the same reservation. Additionally the card has no foreign transaction fees.
I would get the card now for yourself and then apply for your wife when the offer comes around again. If she doesn't get approved it is not a big deal and doesn't affect her credit score at all except for a few points off temporarily for the hard pull.
Hope this helped.

Welp. Rumors are Redbird is circling the drain.

Yikes. I'd be fricked if not for work expenses. Hope this isn't true for the rest of you guys.

Appears that way. I loaded another 2000 today to meet my minimum spend. I will be curious to see if it actually ends tomorrow. Appears to be some conflicting data if it is a national role out or regional. I hope to get another $2,000 tomorrow to atleast have an even $100 rewards.
