Does anyone know if it's possible to transfer Marriott points from one account to another? There is a referall promotion going on that I will get 10,000 bonus for a referal and whoever signs up will get 70,000 points as a startup bonus. Thinking about getting my wife to sign up using my link, then transferring te 70,000 to my account if it's possible.

You can transfer your points to your legal spouse or domestic partner at time of reward redemption provided he or she is also a Marriott Rewards member.
From the Marriott site.

I used this a few months back and the process is very easy. Took about 10 minutes on the phone with a Marriott rep.

Wow, I didn't know about this. Me and all my coworkers just signed up and we have been staying at a Marriott for 47 days so far.

To expand on this...I have 4 more 70,000 bonus point invites for those interested in the Marriott CC. This card is typically 30,000=40,000pts bonus.

Is there any way to use group/corporate codes for hotels when booking through UR? I've poked around and haven't been able to find anything.

I just was invited to apply for the Visa Black Card...
We do ok in our house financially but don't makes tons of money...why would I get invited to get a card with that type of annual fee?
Also, more realistically, I received an application yesterday for the Chase Sapphire Preferred...40,000 sign-up bonus plus another 5,000 for another authorized user. Is this a good card?

It's a fantastic card and the points are very flexible if used correctly. I got a CSP in March and have over 100000 points on it already.
I agree about the VISA Black. I have a Mastercard World Elite and the annual fee is much lower with basically the same benefits. Not sure I'll ever use that private jet service though.

I regularly use card...love the transfer possibilities. However, they just just removed the 7% yearly dividend from the card New applicants won't receive that benefit and current cardholders will have it removed after 2015.

Got an offer from Marriott for 70K points. I see on the site they only offer 50K, so I'm guessing this is an OK deal.
Question is, I'm not paying for the annual fee after a year. I'd just be getting the card for the 70K and looking to cancel before next summer when the $85 fee comes into play.
I've never cancelled a card with rewards points attached. How does that work? Would I have to use the 70K before I cancel next year or would they stay in my account?

Once they are transferred to Marriott they are your points to use. At that point you are only bound by Marriott's rules regarding the points and expiration.

Just for clarification, are these chase points or marriott reward points?
ETA: Nevermind.
I'd still like to know what kind of places I can stay for 70,000 points.

I'm surprised to hear the CSP will be losing its dividend. That was essentially the only selling point they had when people would downgrade and keep a business card.
