1938-1948 Joe Louis defended the Heavyweight title 25 times without a loss. Only Jersey Joe Wallcott & Auturo Godoy would go the distance against Louis. Louis would knock both of them out in rematches.

Wow. 400+ total bases 5 times during that stretch?!?! That has to be a record. And I would assume several WS championships during that stretch.

With numbers like that, its no wonder they never gave the guy a day off work.
