He is a control freak. I have little doubt. And I agree with the article...it's about winning.

What I want to know are the details of the contract he signed? I don't think Louisville is going to just let him leave again once he starts winning.
Surely Jurich loads that thing up with a ridonkulous buyout clause.
I'd put a $20 million buyout clause on him, just like he had here.

Wait - if he can go back to Louisville, wouldn't he rather be at Arkansas?
Why would he rather be at a place where he was fired? Louisville never fired him. And if you want to know the truth, most Louisville fans hated it when he left, despite his character flaws. I guess they've finally learned what it does for a program to be winning. And like it or not, that's the main reason he was hired. He knows how to win.

Has any school that's hired petrino ever not ended up regretting it?... falcons, arky, wku... Only exception is possibly UL, but they were a dumpster fire once he left.
A strange hire... dudes a certified shitty human being.

I never regretted him being hired. I regretted him doing stupid shite to get himself fired.
He wins. That's why Louisville hired him. Do you remember what it feels like to lose? You can bet your bottom dollar I remember because that's what's been happening ever since he left, kinda like what happened at Auburn when Malzahn left for a year. Shitty coaching is shitty...period. I'm not yet convinced that we made the right hire this time. I'll say this...if we win only 3-4 games next year, I'll know the reason.
I'll say this for Auburn. Y'all don't tolerate losing. Bielema wouldn't last more than 2 seasons and probably just 1 with the kind of record he produced this year ...not at Auburn.
Plus, if Malzahn (who is no angel) hadn't been for several years been groomed for the position and sitting on ready for Gene to take the fall, Petrino would more than likely have been hired at Auburn. I truly believe this. I know how y'all operate.

I don't regret it. He was a dumb eff who ruined his job here. My regret is who we hired for the next season and how they handled that.

I get your point, but he left a terrible situation, granted it was compounded by hiring JLS and then completely changing offensive philosophies with BB.

No. The situation came about because Mr. Long fired him. Hell, Gary Pinkel had an affair with some strange hide, gets a DWI, gets divorced, and allegedly gets the girl pregnant, all around the same time Bobby had the wreck (or whatever happened). He even rides a Harley, for whatever that's worth.
Ever wonder why that was kept on the low? I'll tell you why. ESPN and the Mizzou AD doesn't hate him and he's by nature an easy person to get along with (unless, of course, you're his wife). Petrino pisses people off. That's the main difference.
Both know how to win when their noses aren't on the roam.

possibly because pinkel was intelligent enough to tell his ad what actually happened so the ad could keep it on the downlow. it's kind of hard to contain the flow of information when you don't have the whole story.
plus, nowhere in that did i see that the affair pinkel had was with an employee of the university of missouri that pinkel had hired.

Per his presser...the buyout is $10 million.

I agree. But if Petrino was not an a-hole (if you can imagine that), among other things, I'd be willing to bet that his hiring of the girl would have never been an issue and JL would never have orchestrated a nationally televised performance of theatrics trying to sell his point. Believe me, Petrino gave Jeff Long every reason to do what he did and I'm guessing Jeff perhaps knew the score months before he pulled the trigger.
There's a lot more to it than what we see. Just my opinion.

I have to disagree with this point.

Well our 2015 game against the Cards just got a whole lot more interesting. And difficult.

it's possible he may have known. and i'll say this- i remember when jeff first came out after the accident he made a point of specifying bobby was alone- i thought that was maybe a bit weird and was surprised the long haters didn't come up with a conspiracy theory at that point. i still think given the cat was out of the bag, long made the right decision.
on the flip, if long knew all along it seems like bp could have used that and if nothing else gotten them both fired. but hell who knows?

That's it?
Maybe Jurich really is an idiot after all. That's chump change if he wins and a bigger program comes calling.

Regarding Jeff Long, there's some things I don't like, however, he's very shrewd. That's something we'll never know. I've noticed some odd things as well, but not that in particular. You are a keen observer.

I just have a hard time believing that Long knew about Dorrell, because Petrino could have pulled the "if I'm going down, you're going down with me" card behind closed doors after the wreck if that were the case. It'd have come out by now.
