Really? I mean go be a Bama fan if all you have to do is compare the state of LSU to anything Bama does.

Maybe you should check out how that has resulted for their players in the NFL. LSU players are in starting line-ups...Bama players are not as much. LSU preaches what is best for the kid and let's him make a decision.

If you don't understand achieving your dream, then I can't help you. But maybe these kids dreamed of playing in the NFL and not as much as they dreamed of getting a degree or winning a title. The sure thing about being drafted is you get a chance to earn the roster spot.

They choose to come back...there is a 1 in 120 shot of earning a national title.

Any RB that is eligible and will be drafted is silly to not go. Their careers are too short for them to waste valuable time taking poundings in the SEC when they could take them in the league earning money.

Shaq didn't graduate while a student at LSU...he has a doctorate now. You think they can't take online classes to finish their degree? Get a clue man. This thread wreaks of butthurt from your selfish perspective. How about you say...congrats to OBJ and Landry for stellar careers at LSU and thank them for their time at your university embodying what it means to be an LSU student athlete and wish them luck in their future NFL careers??? Is that too much to ask???

How about you welcome the new opportunities that other players will have to make a name for themselves in their absence? Kids come to LSU to play ball...everyone sticks around for 4-5 years and you have unhappy student athletes looking to transfer and take that talent somewhere that doesn't benefit LSU anyway.

3rd -4th-5th on the sec, what's the difference?

For those of you still ranting that there is no reason for guys to stay, to improve their draft stock under the new CBA, you probably don't understand the 5th Year Option on the new CBA.

It does provide demarcation between being...
1. a Top 10 pick
2. a 1st round pick (11-32)
3. a 2nd+ round pick

If you have a chance to improve your stock into 1st round, or from lower 1st round into top 10, it would be a good business move to consider returning to school.

Also, there is a total rookie cap each team uses. And that cap can be sloshed around throughout their picks. Now, what do you think the odds of a 2nd round pick being given more of that pool than a 3rd round pick? (hint: pretty good)

But, yeah, y'all just keep going with the mantra that there is nothing LSU can do to 'splain the pros/cons better for these kids. And that "I'd rather lose them than not have them in the first place".... which is a silly argument.

I'd rather have them and have less of them going pro in order to get put on a practice squad or get drafted just outside the 1st round when they can improve their position.

No I don't.
I'm talking specifically about past two years.
It's not a good trend for the program to lose this amount of underclassmen.

Mett was LSU's only senior player this year who had a prayer of making First Team All-SEC (but didn't), and I can't think of any seniors on next years team who have a chance of making first team All-SEC either.

A lot of the seniors on this All-SEC team will be drafted higher than most of LSU's juniors were last season. Debating whether or not the All-SEC Seniors made a wise financial decision is an entirely different argument; the point is that other SEC schools managed to have some seniors who were really good at football this season.

Only 19 BCS schools had a player declare and then not get drafted in the top 100 picks last season. Only 6 schools lost more than 1 player who wasn't a top 100 pick. LSU lost 5. It's not happening everywhere.
