Like Russell & Randall.

I guess the biggest problem with a dual threat is that we are tempted to use his running ability too much and take away plays from our RBs.
AJ should be used as a pocket passer and use his mobility to escape a pass rush, I don't think he's a good enough runner to run options, read options, draws, etc.. We need to leave the rushing yards to the RBs.

I'm with u, I don't know what JJ was except a total DUD!!!

quote:Exactly. I love the type of QB JJ was, he was just a terrible example of it. What I'd most like (as many have pointed out) is that style of QB, only good at it (a la Aaron Rodgers, etc.).
JJ was a passing QB who could run, but really wasn't a dual threat QB

quote:True. I would take a QB with 6 INTs on the season that were all returned for TDs over a QB with 16 INTs with none returned for TDs every day of the week and twice on Sunday (not that any QB that does either has much chance of playing on Sunday anyway).
16 INT's were far worse problem in total than the six that were directly returned for TDs

Hard to find a true dual threat. LSU really hasn't had one.
RP and Mauch say hello and where have you been?

Exactly. Most "dual threats" out there seems to really be single threat or at best, 1.5 threats.
List some of those single threats you are referring to. You can start with Auburn's QB I guess.
My list of some of college DTs who were dual threats:
JFF (Heisman)
Cam Newton (Heisman)
RGIII (Heisman)
Jameis Winston (Heisman)
Tim Tebow (Heisman)
Vince Young
Geno Smith
Tahj Boyd
Braxton Miller
michael Bush
Wilson
Kapernick
Mauch
RP
Brett Hundley
EJ Manual
Jake Locker
Dennis Dickson
Tyrod Taylor
Teddy Bridgewater
Steve Young
Aaron Rodgers
John Elway
Doug Flutie
Charlie Ward
Tommie Frazier
Kordell Stewart
Donnovan McNabb
Randall Cunningham
Fran Tarkenton
Etc., etc., etc.
Are you really stating that you would not want the above QBs as LSU QB because they are DTs?

If he shoots well, and fast, take him.

Find anything in my post history that would lead you to think that? I was happy with Mett, why wouldn't I be happy with Rittig? I wasn't as happy with Mett last year. I have no bias against DTs or PPs. I have a bias for excellent LSU QBs, regardless of who or what they are. How about you?

By the way, by your response, obviously you do.
