Had some teal grilled once medium rare, pretty darn good but know one I knew would eat bloody ducks. I quit duck hunting for that reason , they suck. I have cleaned and baked Woodies , teal a ton of different ways and they are always still ducks.
Never saw a texan ever even try to clean one, they just pitch them in the dumpster.
Supposedly , aging them in the refrigerator in a brown bag, (guts in) for three weeks is the real deal. Breast Grilled like a ribeye after that.

Duck is great if you know how to cook them It is hard to make a mallard taste good though.

I like just about any duck that are swamp ducks not field ducks. Woodies, Teal, Gadwall, and Widgeon are my favorites. It's hard to cook wood duck and make it taste bad.
