Well then this is your first problem to address. Our second rescue was like this at first. It took about 5 trips to a doggie daycare place (once a week) to get her used to other dogs and to socialize. When she finally came around, it was amazing how much more confident she was.

I'm not saying something like that will be as easy for you. But I'm going to guess that there's a root cause for the over-submissive behavior and being anti-social. And it's probably the same cause as the not eating while boarded.

If you really want your dog to live a happy life, find a trainer that can help you get her our of being over-submissive and anxious.

yeah,we spoil her a bit I guess and never thought it would lead to her being only into us.
It's caused problems for us when we want to leave for pretty much anything.
She wants to go everywhere with me and is deeply depressed when she can't.

I have two labs. One is spoiled bigger than shite thanks to my wife. He gets depressed when we leave him for a few days. He loves to eat so we don't have that issue. We either drop them off at my parents house or someone comes to ours and feeds them.

Yeah then I'd suggest finding the root instead of just the symptom. Problem is trainers aren't cheap.

I would find a doggie day care place that does boarding and bring the dog there. But don't wait till you go out of town. Get in the habit of bringing the dog there from time to time to get it socialized. Then when you go out of town it will be something the dog is familiar with already.
