Bit off more than he could chew? Lol He's far exceeded expectations of even the most delusional penn state fan

This. The guy doesn't need to fabricate a reason for leaving. He did a very good job navigating this program through some tough sanctions and now he's ready to take on a new challenge.

Then why whine to the media like a little baby about these mysterious 'Paterno people' who have cut ties with that family quicker than anything in Football history?

If O'Brien is so confident with his work let it stand for it damn self & stop complaining about these mysterious people holding him back in Happy Valley.

I'm fully aware the man stepped into an almost win-win situation in Penn State & so is he.

Keeps them afloat ,he did a great job'. It plays out worse 'look at the cards he was dealt'.

Now continue parroting the Gospels according to O'Brien because obviously his word about the mysterious 'Paterno people' is fact.

Sounds like the University/Alumni has learned it's lesson (at least short term) about coach worship & O'Brien is a little hurt because his ego wasn't stroked enough.
