TAMPA, Fla. — LSU Athletic Director Joe Alleva said Monday he has not received any contact from officials at Texas asking for permission to speak to coach Les Miles about their vacant head coaching position, and that he expects Miles to be with the Tigers for the foreseeable future.

“He has five years left on his contract, and I expect him to be our coach for a long time to come,” said Alleva, here with the LSU traveling party as the Tigers prepare to take on Iowa in Wednesday’s Outback Bowl, scheduled to kick at noon on ESPN.

This just in: CLM is going to be the coach of LSU for the foreseeable future so this is all moot point. As I said before if the season ticket sales ever dwindle to unacceptable level then they will have a serious discussion, otherwise he is here to stay! We reallists all know the pros and cons of CLM program: the record is outstanding along with generally good team character while his game day coaching sometimes is questioned and a inexplicable L every season but ask Lil Nickie about that now, otherwise there is nothing more to do but support in full this Tiger program and bring on the Iowans and then LF to begin the year right!

frick a 20 year fricking snapshot.

This.

I'm not a Miles hater. Actually like the guy. I'm not a Miles lover either though. All of those people who say Miles should be fired after a loss are retards, and all of those people who say "who else would do better" are equal retards. B/c you don't know. Who was Les Miles before LSU? Who was Nick Saban? LSU made those coaches just as equally as those coaches have made LSU. So to act like we couldn't pluck up another up and coming coach and have equal to better success is stupid. I'll concede that to ignore the success we're having is also stupid.

But a loss would be 3 bowl losses in a row. How far of a snapshot would you have to have to see when the last time LSU accomplished that? You'd have to go back to 1982, 84, 85 and 86. We lost 4 in a row. Then your snap shot includes the years that came after that and you know where the program went.

So, to lose 3 bowl games in a row would be awful. But of course, that sting could be forgiven in just one day.
