Does the pullup assist help you over time to complete more/get better at pullups, or does it only help with those who may not be able to do but 1 or 2 to try to get a few more in? I guess I'm asking what it actually does. When that Pam from the office lookalike on p90x uses the chair, it almost seems like it's doing all the work and takes a ton of the effort away from her actually pulling.

Also, does anyone else kind of shame themselves after a long weekend? I started '15 doing great but the last few weekends I've eaten pretty crappy and drank a shite ton of beer. Sunday night I always feel like I've undone the whole previous week.

Yes. It really helps with proper form and allows you to go as far down as you want without worrying if you can make it back up.

yes and yes. The assist has 3 bands in it...as things start to get easier you can pull the middle one and only use the support of the 2 outside bands to make it more difficult. Then you can put just the center one in and only use it for an even tougher assisted pull-up. Or, you can just keep doing more and more of the the 3 banded ones I guess if you wanted to. As to what it actually does...when you drop to a full extension it pulls the bands tight, so that as you start to pull yourself up the tightness helps to propel you up some. My soon to be ex couldn't even do a pull-up using the assist band...I think with all 3 of the bands it only gives you like 45 pounds of assistance or something like that (15 each on the red one) and I think there are even some 25 pound purple ones, but those don't come with it
