stock radio won't have enough RMS voltage in the speakers for a high level line input on the amp.
find a good pioneer you like with quality pre-out voltages and it will cut distortion 75%.
less distortion = more quality sound.
8's and 10's are great for rock and some pop.
12 is solid at everything. especially country and jazz.
15's excel at EDM and Rap.
its all about construction of the sub's magnet and response time to the hertz scale the sub is trying to reproduce.
