Why the committee of the Golden Eight, none of which has a football background? What is their true purpose? Who benefits from the inherent delay of a committee?

while I certainly appreciate a good conspiracy, the Hicks and Jamail are not enemies. The politics have been ongoing and there are many factions. But this is Bill Powers's committee (it's essentially the same group as the one he and Dodds used to hire Patterson).
If you want to watch fur fly, Regent Wallace Hall's impeachment hearing began yesterday.
