I love Miles and think Spurrier is a huge dick*, but Spurrier in his prime was a better strategist and game day coach. He's too lazy/arrogant to recruit well (I sympathize, as I hate the way recruiting works in CFB), but he was a hell of a coach.

What Spurrier did at Florida when he was winning would not work in the SEC today. He played a wide open offense, but not as much defense. He has changed his ways somewhat at Carolina, and now has a more balanced team. But I agree, he has not beaten Miles yet.
