He's a southpaw and the leads go through the left shoulder. That is the standard way; he was told that going through the other side complicates the procedure.
It does not bother him not to hunt anymore. (He still uses his GAMO to kill the squirrels in his backyard and shoot coons, opossum or anything that gets too close to his chicken coup.)

My uncle quit hunting too after shooting an elk out west and starting to raise red deer on his high fenced 100 acres near Pineville. Said he wasn't "mad at em" anymore. That uncle was my dads BIL and best buddy and he lost his enthusiasm for hunting/killing about the same time.
I don't care if he ever kills another deer, I just like spending time with him while I can no matter what we're doing.
