Had two deer feeders stolen sometime in the past few days on a pipeline. I'd like to think hunters/outdoorsmen are better and more respectful people, but it just isn't true is it? They had to come from the lease right next to us because one feeder had 250 lbs of corn in it, protected the other direction by a huge creek.
Any chance they may come back for more this weekend? I'll be hunting a lot it seems.

Tire tracks coming from the next lease and we never drive trucks back there. If they would've come the org direction, they would've stole about 3 more lol.
I doubt they come back but they is a lot of merchandise there for the taking.
The lease I'm blaming has a oil rig locked gate. So it's either am oil guy or lease member.
Thoughts on driving to the other lease mid-day and searching a lil bit? Very tempting but I cod see it getting nasty in a hurry.

I'd think it's more likely oil people then. The guy next door knows he's more likely to get caught. Oilfied guy is only through there every once in awhile and he's taking it somewhere far away.
It's gone.
It's gone.

I figured that as well. Pisses me off like nothing else. Definitely not about the money.
Just to think some a-hole comes on our land, sees a few feeders and thinks, hey there's some free shite.

contact lease owners and educate them of the situation at hand

better to go out in a blaze of glory than not, but i'd let the lease owners know ahead of time
had a situation arise a bit similar at my parents house/property, dad was walking up the property before work last week and came across a guy in a stand he set up.. on their property
my dad just asked the guy what he was doing there and said he was our neighbors friend and thought it was our neighbors property.. now that I think about it, two totally differnt situations, party on

As someone who has worked in the land-based oil industry, it's the oil man. Shady mfers.

Doc hates a thief too.
But then again...he's an irresponsible gun owner.

Not that it would work but I guess I could get the well number and tell the oil company about it. Surely they know who checked the well this week. Doubt they care about my $300 worth of feeders though lol.

Do it.
You might get lucky and he might admit to it or have a track record.
At the least he could lose his job for thievery. Good luck finding another one.

Again, as someone who has worked in the industry, they probably won't give a flying frick. Might be worth a call though. If its a larger company and the pumper has a history of stealing shite then the company may do something (about the pumper, not your feeders (they gone)).

My uncle had a trail cam watching his feeder on a pipeline on our land.
Caught the mother fer that was stealing his stuff and rutting up the pipeline.

Oil guy? Or random trespasser?
Posted on 12/7/13 at 4:15 am to SportTiger1
Why not bluff and tell them you caught them on a game cam and you won't press any charges if they return the feeder.
