When you can load such a wide range of readily available bullets into this rife it truly can be everything from a varmint gun to a Moose gun.

I agree and if I bought a bolt gun, today, it would be chambered in .308 for a number of reasons.
I am intrigued by the whole .300 RUM concept, though - if that were to catch on - it could change everything, from a versatility standpoint.
Still early and too costly - if I handloaded, I would probably already be into the experiment.
