I hope everyone remembers AJ is a true freshman

I'm expecting this guy to eventually be a name Tiger fans will remember for years, but I am also expecting some struggles in his first start this up coming bowl game. Taking a team 99 yards in a hurry up is very impressive, but lets remember it was against Arkansas. While I believe he will progress with every play and then get an entire off season working on an offense more suited for him, remember this is a giant leap from a year ago when he was playing high school. I get the feeling he's set up a pretty large persona for some Tiger fans and sometimes it makes it hard to live up too. So just keep in mind the best will be yet to come.

Of all the shite the overly officious admins whack, there should be a moratorium on the Jennings threads. They're just setting the kid up to be torn down as soon as he struggles in a game (he will, by the way, at some point).
I'm damned proud of the way he came in and won the game for us, but let's give him a chance to develop without all the pressure of playing a 5th-year Heisman winning senior in his first year of starting.
Some people on here are fricking creepy.

6 Heismans is just a true freshman like Lebron James was just a rookie.

#6heismans dude qill be a stud, real fans won't turn on him for struggling because he is young.

I can't tell if your expecting are hoping he struggles.

Your talking about the same Arkansas team that sacked mett 3 times and ended his season. Show some respect because everyone know we lose that game without Jennings.

I'm sorry but noone will commit suicide because we lose a meaningless bowl game with our backup freshman QB. Most fans just hope he looks good so we can build for next year you genius.

Yes, the same one that hadn't won and SEC game. Those teams normally find a way to shite the bed.

First off didn't say anything about suicide and I never made a reference to winning or losing. The post was about how he would play. The only thing we have to base his ability on is that drive and I remember how happy people were at JJ's performance when he took over in his freshman year and look what that led too. Before I get ripped for that last comment I'm not comparing him to JJ, but if he struggles just remember he's only going to get better.

The only thing you have to base his ability on is that drive. I've been on the Jenning's pain train before the season even started. He is the true freshman QB that was good enough to be named backup over a couple veterans and the pro style qb everybody loved from cali. He also looked very good in the spring game against LSU starting defense even though the numbers didn't show it. This the same kid I expect to be a heisman contender before his career over. Bottom line is I expect him to look like the stud he is. Peyton manning makes mistakes and has the occational bad game. If he as the ability to be great we will see it in the bowl game whether LSU win or lose.

yes. real fans won't. Rantards on the other hand...well they just don't know any better.

I'm not sure you should think of him as a true freshman anymore. He was an early enrollee so he's been on on the team for almost a full year at this point.

Be patient. I thought JJ was going to be a great QB for LSU after the bowl game against Georgia Tech.
I don't understand why everyone is so high on AJ. We haven't seen enough. I am very hopeful and dont get me wrong, that last drive against Arky was a good starting point. 3rd and 10 you call the Tsunami... little bit of luck there. Its not like he methodically sustained a long drive for a touchdown.
Just slow down and lets see what we got. I hope its not JJ 2.0.

Most thought AJ would be a great QB before the spring game. See what I did there?? We barely new who JJ was before that bowl game. AJ is mr. 6heismans...the annointed savior....the qb that will return LSU to the top of the SEC. JJ wasn't even a true dual treat for crying out loud. He was a pro style qb coming out of high school who wasn't ready to play and just had a good game against a bad defense. Please stop comparing AJ to JJ because it's fricking embarrassing and the kid deserves better.

Well, I will say this, when I saw JJ as a Freshman in his bowl game i was highly skeptical and my post years ago prove it, I though his arm action was terrible and long and thought his thinking was too slow...Im sure no one will argue that I thought he was terrible QB...
I even said two years ago that I thought Mett will be a great one if we got the right kind of play-action play calling...I believe i was right about him based on his comfort level in the pocket and his incredible arm and accuracy...Cam did very well in play calling with him...
I think AJ will be a Winston type player...I think he is smart, will make good decisions in the future (near future)...I love that he can avoid the rush...what seperates winston from him is obvious size and velocity on his ball, he wont be able to make the same throws as mett...(but hey how many can?) but I think he has good touch and can learn timing with WR's...you dont have to have a cannon to be a good College QB... (hence Danny Weurful fom florida years ago)
I will miss Mett alot i think he was a great QB for LSU, But I think we are in good hands with Jennings simply because of ability to avoid the pass rush..(it will also cause Saban nightmares cause its the blue print to beating his defenses, a mobile QB)....but we need to have solid play makers around him...recruiting is vital this year.

very true...
two totally different kinds of kid too...
I dont think JJ was even a QB either...mildly athletic, big...should have been a TE..
Russell Sheperd was an athlete. Much Like Odell and Landry.

I've got called racist twice already fur posting what you just said.
These creepy posters you speak of love playing race card.
I don't get why it's so important to them.

Are you implying that LSU fans have unrealistic expectations?

All of THIS! I had been telling people since December when I first saw his highlight tape, dude is accurate, always looking down field when escaping the rush, and had perfect touch on his passes. I knew he would challenge for backup, just didn't know he would win it in about a month. Gonna be great and you'll see that in the bowl game. I predict that he'll double JJ's and Mett's stats for their first bowl game.

quote:How dare you imply that JennSwag will struggle at any point. According to his "Supporters " he is Omnipotent and can do no wrong. They're creepy all right and have an agenda. Don't like how they're all just dismissing the drop back pro-style passers in Rivers and Rettig. Wasn't Rettig one of the highest rated "Passing QB's" coming out of high school? Just don't think R & R satisfy the requirements of their agenda.

Camerban will decide on who plays though, not all the X-Box experts.
