Can't be any more insane than giving mulligans to teams that finish second in their division (and subsequently punishing a division winning team for playing in an extra game against a tough opponent)

In a normal year you will have 1 maybe 2 undefeated teams. So your basically looking for the best two or possibly 3 three 1 loss teams. In today's world Bama would be in pretty good position to be one of those 1 loss teams.

Amazing how people don't get how way off they are when they say this.

"Second in your division" refers to eight games. You play 12. Already you have a bad point. Furthermore, "Second in your division" can be coterminous with "second in the nation," as it was in 2011. Playing a team a second time is by no means "punishment" since every game begins with the score at 0-0.

that depends entirely on who is in the division and who is in contention while NOT being in that division
