The drawback on Hawkins is that he's not a real natural bender. He's tall, and he's got that excellent frame for a 300 pounder, but he's also a little stiff and upright in his posture. When he gets beaten, it's usually because a defender has gotten under him and gained the leverage advantage.

Of course he can improve that, mostly by working on flexibility, but if he doesn't he will probably continue to struggle against a strong bull rush from guys that can get low.

A lot of it comes down to matchups. For instance, I think Hawkins would fare pretty well against a tall, athletic DE like Danielle Hunter. Someone like Lewis Neal (or some other DL with a similar body type) would give him more problems.
