Well its fact, not opinon that LM has a history of sitting players that have a hot hand, of course as long as that player isnt wearing #9.
It isn't a fact given that you are misstating the facts. Both Les and Larry Porter confirmed that Larry made the calls on running back personnel in 2007. So, I guess we would say that Porter has a history of sitting the hot hand.

IDK, its a little mind boggling how everyone here says he's a 100% gone to NFL and he doesnt even lead his own team in carries.
I dont get it either.
I'm not impressed with Hill's ability to hit the hole, or find one. He's awesome once he breaks the LoS, but LSU has better backs (the kind Les likes) to punch out a few yards. For a big guy, Hill isn't a pile mover.

3.) Magee is being rewarded for having a good spring, good season and well, not getting into trouble.
Miles has been his biggest fan since he arrived - they tried to get him on the field by moving him to wideout, he was too good to keep out of the backfield. His style is better suited against some teams. Against aTm, it seemed as though they battered the aTm front seven with Hill during the first couple of drives, but then Magee started ripping off big runs - in fact, if Magee had scored on that TD, instead of having to run it 3 more times (netting 3 yards, I think), I think he would have averaged almost 15 yards per carry - that's amazing against even a bad running defense like the Aggies.
Magee only rushed 4 times in the second half - all were 6 yards or longer. Hill rushed 2 times in the second half, averaging 12.5 yards. Other than those 6 carries, Hilliard and Blue took the other carries in the second half.
Hilliard and Blue each had a couple of 0s, 1s and 2s, but even with those, they averaged 4.5 and 4.7 yards per carry, respectively.
Magee gets the credit, and the big run was huge, but the OL should game balls for this performance.
* 4 different backs averaged 4.5 yards per carry or better.
* Team converted 11 third downs
* No sacks
* Combined average 5.9 yards per rush
* Rushed 55 times for 324 yards, net.

Hmmmm, I disagree. I think Hill is the most complete back in every way. I think Magee was the most productive back on Saturday.

And he did literally the exact opposite on Saturday. WHY ARE WE EVEN TALKING ABOUT THIS!?

I have no idea what the negas are talking about regarding this game.
It was a complete win over one of the best offenses in all of college football. The fact that our OC is literally an NFL coordinator and runs a professional scheme, and that aTm has a poor (to put it nicely) rushing defense, should not take away from the fact that we put up 500+ yards of total offense and held the ball for 40 minutes - that's normal for an outing against a weaker FCS team, not a team who, until recently, had championship aspirations - and played Bama tougher than anyone over the past 2 years (even us).
Also, despite being much maligned this year, the defense finally seemed to hit on all cylinders - getting off the field, aggressive when necessary, pressure when necessary, good coverage and good discipline against a dangerous player such as Manziel.
But the negas want to come in and complain about how many carries Hill got - on a day when Magee was really tearing them up - like Madden-style stats.

Do you think Frank Wilson has less or more authority on the field than Larry Porter did? It doesn't matter, we don't know for sure on that one. We do know that Charlemagne sitting on the sideline in 2007 against UK was on Porter.

So is it bc Les and JH had a talk about the future or bc TMagee had the hot hand?
FWIW I like 14... but he doesnt get his ego stroked on here the way JH does.
Hell even the guys on pregame saturday were talking about JH geeting 25 plus carries.. all agreed it prob wouldnt happen because of the fact JH has gotten 20 or more carries only 2 times in 10 games.
If JH is our best back, which most of us here agree he is.. .youd think he would get more carries.
Pretty sure that was/is point of the OP.

That's only if you believe that he remains the best back as his carries increase. If, however you believe he is most effective with 15-20 touches, then you would expect a coaching staff to give him that many touches.

unfortuantley we will most likely never know for sure...
However, He sure made a believer out of me vs USC last year.

IMO Ridley in 2010 was the most "featured" back for Les

Or do you believe he should be getting three times as many carries as the next closest back? Or, four times? Why not five?

Don't really know or give a shite. I never said anything about any "talk". But it was clear that Magee was running really hard and he was a huge part of why we won. That's really what it should be left at. People always rip on Miles for being hard headed and now he gives another RB a shot, he has a great game and leads us to a big victory and people are questioning it? Amazing.

He still had the most carries on the team and leads the team in carries BY FAR. Not every game goes EXACTLY how people predict it and not every thing that happens has or needs an explanation.

This is kind of funny. The game plan for most of the year seems to have been heavy doses of 33 early and late. As I was watching the game, my thought was we'd see a lot of 33 in the fourth quarter to salt the game away. When we had it in hand at that point, I imagine Coaches Miles and Wilson decided to save the tread on Hill and went to Blue and Hilliard to end the game. It seemed like a smart call to me.

Hill is frustrating to watch sometimes because he goes down so easily. He looks nice out in the open but is not a big tackle breaker.
Magee runs much harder and you have to tackle him to bring him down. Would start him over Hill every time.

I believe the best player should get the most carries by far.
LSU avgs 34 rushes per game, Hill accounts for 15.5 of those.
Whatever, doesnt matter.. most prob we have two more games to watch him play.

I believe the best player should get the carries too. Magee was SEC player of the week. Give that dude the ball more.
