You are all wrong. Miyagi would have left again. The only reason he came back was because his dad was dying. After his dad died, there really was no reason for him to stay. He and Danielson would have left and the movie would have ended.
So as you can see, that is why the storm HAD to come.

The real question is, "Did Miyagi bring the storm?"
Maybe his karate was even more powerful than physical fighting? Maybe he made it where he didn't even have to fight?
Maybe the answer is right in front of you but you can't see it?

Not this time. Sato made sure he sealed his own doom by threatening to trash the village if Miyagi left again.
Remember, the storm hit like two hours before they were supposed to fight and Miyagi was still there.
