A um yea a guy I know cut the head off a road kill doe so could use it as proof of sex of a nice buck he killed. Then hid the horns for the ride home. Green jeans would have had to dump 5 deer out of the icechest to figure out 4 of the legs were too big.

Great market in selling them to the Bama Crimson tide football players.

Maybe LSU players should consider it too.

The same reason people pick up sheds, because they like horns.

You shouldn't let stuff like this bother you, cujo.

Make good knife grips

Pow Pow Cove used to make knives out of antlers. Made buttons for coats & such too. He was a craftsman/artist/hunter/trapper/fisherman/outdoor renaissance man.

Ah, I take it he was a natural, living man?

He could still shoot a heavy recurve bow when he was in his 80's and plum eat up with the cancer. Killed a buck with it about a month before he died. They don't make em like Pow Pow Cove any more. No way would he have stood for uncles & cousins moving cameras and stands on his place.

You were probably only 10 or 12 when he was born. You know the type.

Used to piss me off that I was too small to bend and string his bow. My mom tried to get it for me when he died, but one of my shiftless-arse MS uncles snatched it up, kept it about a year and then traded it away for some kind of worthless shite or another.

i've got some rattling antlers that i acquired similarly, off a rotting buck that I found on the edge of a lake. Sawed off the brow tines too to make them easier to grip.
