Even if you look at only shooting guards in the west: Harden, Martin, Thompson, and Hayward have all outplayed him.

There are still more than 2 months left till the voting ends and Gordon is a top 5 SG in the West right now. It isn't completely out of question.

Then you have the point guards: Paul, Curry, Conley, Lawson, Lillard, and Bledsoe who will be fighting for the same position on the all star team.

But I tend to agree that there are too many more popular players at the guard position in the West and since they don't separate PG from SG his chances are very slim.

While AD's torrid pace makes him so worthy of an AS nod, I think it'll be less straight forward than you think. IF he gets in, it'll be close (and he's the only one with a shot).

3 starting frontcourt players: Durant, Love, Dwight
That leaves him fighting for a bench spot against: Dirk (way too popular for his own good), LaMarcus Aldridge, Boogie Cousins (fills up the box score), Duncan, Gasol bros, Kenneth Faried (underdog), Blake Griffin (fills it up).
~AD is somewhere in here~
Then there are more players who will indubitably challenge for spots if not fall up short, yet their presence demand respect:
Serge Ibaka, Pekovic, Z-bo, David Lee, Derrick Favors.

He's only making it if we pull a Jamaal Magloire and rock this motherfricking vote.
