In the USA

- The chicks are good at it
- It´s elitist and expensive, at better levels
- No established pro league which is tightly woven into the fabric of society, and is incessantly bombarding you with stupid adverts and shite.
- Dexterity with the feet, body coordination, are both complicated concepts for most

In Europe

- It pervades the entire society, including the language, at times
- Some followers are too hardcore and absorbed, their lives revolve around it

In South America

- It´s the only thing in life, for many

Your other points were spot on, IMO. This one, though, I'm not so sure. I guess it's more confusion more than disagreement on my end. Are you saying athletes in the US don't have foot skills and/or body coordination? Obviously, soccer players will have superior foot dexterity in terms of using his feet to strike a ball. But it's not like athletes in other sports from America are lacking in that department. We (almost) literally breed athletes here. The best athletes in the world, by far. It's just that the most popular sports here require a different type of foot dexterity and body coordination.
