I certainly understand your point but in doing so you effectively erase close to a century of champions. I don't think that's fair to the players or the game. As ambiguous as the champions were it was what part of college football.

General13, many years from now, when the playoff system is fully entrenched, people will shake their heads when they read about the history of college football and try to understand why national champions, for the most part, were decided by journalists sitting in their cubicles and not on the field. It is absurd.
