I agree with you for the Dome. But Turner was gonna need some major renovations soon just to keep up with fan experience and even then it'd be stuck in a bad location with no surrounding attractions. So either spend money on a stadium in a bad location AND spend a ton trying to improve the area surrounding the stadium which hasn't improved on its own in 20 years.

Grant Park really isn't that bad of a neighborhood anymore.

The problem is that the Ted is in the middle of a bunch of vast parking lots with an interstate bordering it on one side. There was never any potential for growth right around the stadium. It's parking lots + residential.
