2008 - Fulmer, Tubbs and Croom

Each bit the dust. Tubbs leaving led to an NC. Fulmer leaving led to chaos. Croom leaving has led to.... exactly what they were previously.
UM left Florida and...., well... they suck this year.
Petrio left Arkansas and they haven't recovered yet.
You guys looking to push Miles out, do you really want to roll the dice so badly that you'll risk the health of the whole program? Saban was lightning in a bottle for Bama. Pete Carroll was for USC. Kelly was for Oregon. It can happen, but look at how much more it doesn't happen.
Let it go. We lost. Saban is a better coach. I get it. So, when you find one better than Saban, go after him. Otherwise, I believe Miles will turn this around.

Can't wait for the day when posters like TheBob and other rantards of his ilk say "I miss Les Miles"

I don't feel like we lost 3 games this year so far bc les miles sucks.
Our defense is terrible is why we aren't that good.
Losing what we lost to the draft has cost us more than we all realized.

"I don't feel like we lost 3 games this year so far bc les miles sucks."
We lost 3 games this year b/c we called more passing plays than rushing plays in those 3 games. Only 3 like that....so far.....
If Les is calling that.......

That's ridiculous.

No, having a payroll higher than the Miami Marlins led to a NC.

great post!
consistency. noun:
1. conformity in the application of something, typically that which is necessary for the sake of logic, accuracy, or fairness.
miles is a man of principles.
if miles goes to mich, do we even win the 07?
I still support miles letting perrilloux and honey badger go. no discipline can destroy a team. lm was protecting his team and his job by sticking to his principles. we could be florida!

quote:Saban was not a better coach back when he first came to LSU. But he learned, he grew, he matured. At LSU he showed the sparks of greatness that was in him. Who can forget that 2003 National Championship team? They were well-drilled, well-coached, well-conditioned, well-prepared. And they played like it. They played like an early LSU version of how Alabama plays now. Our bad luck, he went to Miami. But he rebuilt the team and the LSU football culture.

Les Miles came in and made the most of it. But in his 9 years, I believe it is increasingly evident that he has also made a mess of it and has no clue how to return to that well-disciplined, well-coached, well-drilled team he found here back in his first Tiger years.
This is sad because I believe Les Miles is a good man and in his way, loves LSU. But he's not good for us any more. And IMO it's time, before he does irreparable damage to the LSU brand, for him to graciously retire.
Lightning in a bottle? Or a great coach in the making? I believe there is that someone out there for LSU. The key is to find him.

Except of course when Zook and his 5 loss band of badasses rolled into Tiger Stadium and beat the frick out of our offense while shutting us out.
Part of the process, you see

I agree that Les needs to leave gracefully like Urban Meyer

Croom leaving has led to.... exactly what they were previously.
Croom had one wining season in five years and one bowl appearance. Mullen has had three winning seasons and two bowl wins in four years so far.
Florida got rid of Zook (who was winning, but not enough) and got Meyer - two NCs before he left.
Chizik was fired after one losing season two years removed from going 14-0 and getting the crystal. Now Auburn has tripled its win total from last year and is in the hunt with two games left.
The Petrino thing would set any program back a few years.
I agree with you that change doesn't always equal more success. With the amount of juniors Miles keeps losing to the draft, I'm not sure how well he can turn it around if that doesn't change to an extent.

This year no but they lost one game in his second year. Plus they have a lot of injuries that is why they are 4-5.
What is wrong with bringing in new blood.

The reason they are 4-5 is because Muschamp doesn't know how to recruit offensive talent. They have no playmakers on that offense and being in a talent rich state like Florida that is inexcusable.

Sure that'll happen. Missing mediocre coaches can be your job.
