Why recruiting is so important

Hang on a minute. Isn't Les Miles the best recruiter in the universe? So this begs the questions... do we pay outlandish ticket prices to watch this guy recruit or win CHAMPIONSHIPS?

If Landon was at LSU he wouldn't be doing anything special, He would not get developed or taught discipline at LSU, that's the difference. We get enough of the great talent out the state, just don't know how to teach them discipline and develop them.

I think there are a few guys on the field where LSU could and should have recruited a better player!

You'd think that $4+M would buy you outstanding and targeted recuiting

Realizing two of the best players on Alabama's defense last night were from Louisiana proves how important keeping in state talent is. Losing just a couple of the top guys every year is what completely changes the landscape of a team. That's what was happening to LSU in the 80's and 90's. Losing out on guys like Ed Reed, Reggie Wayne, Warrick Dunn and Travis Minor or just small examples of how programs can completely change by losing a couple recruits.
