Actually, if you want to be realistic, the medical and bio-tech industry is growing and will substantially increase over the next five years.

Post-K, amazingly enough, there have been small tech oriented businesses relocate to N.O. and/or start up here. You can actually find the data if you look (But clearly Forbes, Bloomberg, etc., are just making up stories about N.O, right? )

Are you actually oblivious to the renovations actually completed, underway and in the planning stage for the CBD, including Canal St.

I'll get to the point. N.O. was in shitty shape in the early 2000's and had in intermittent to steady decline since the '70's. It is in the early stages of a remarkable comeback by any objective measure (other than black on black crime).

It seems to me that you're negative because you don't see a complete 180 happen immediately. That's not remotely realistic. It take years of change. What's important is constant improvement.

You also seem to have such a fixed, intransigent view of city government and the outdated, exaggerated influence "Uptown business and culture" that it skews your view of reality. You can't see things through a clear lens.

I moved here a long time ago to begin my professional life, got fed up and moved away. But then we returned, and I've never seen the city more interesting and alive in the 33 years I've lived here.

Actually, in your case, the reverse is true. Your disdain for the city is so deep and ingrained, you can't stand positive comments by others, whether they be locals or visitors.
