People said the same things about The Great Belicheck at one time. Pete Carroll as well.

I never recall anyone saying he was not CFB HC material ... only folks saying he couldn't hack it in the NFL.
Obviously, those people were wrong.
In other words ... people said the same stuff about Carroll that they now say about Little Nicky and Spurrier.
Except Carroll saw the writing on the wall from his cheating at SC ... so, he bolted back to escape and get paid.
Little Nicky has had teflon ... and Spurrier will simply retire now once he's done coaching and golfing.
