Cut the frame and use everything for the trailer. Maybe you could put new springs if you wanted, but I'd just leave everything like it was.

Putting a D44 on it would be a waste of money IMHO.

I agree with this. I'd just buy and axle and make a fake chunk to put on it, but that's far less interesting and fun.

not necessarily. Tires/wheels would be interchangable with your jeep, if you left the shafts in the axle you could swap them out when you snap one.
IMO, its a great idea
