I'm sure he would be better than our current o-lineman coach. I guess my only question can Mawae take his knowledge and success on the line, and transfer it into talented players we bring in to LSU. Coach is more than just knowing Xs and Os. Can you manage players and turn them into the players you need them to be.

i was a kid when mawae was at LSU but am pretty much the same age as faneca. faneca was great at LSU but wouldn't most say he was a better pro than college player?
I'd always heard from guys familiar with both eras that Mawae was the better college player.

and we're talking about 2 guys that are probably both NFL HOF'ers so i'm probably splitting hairs.

I agree, we know one thing is true he would immediately command the younger guys attention with his pedigree. imagine the first round picks on the o-line if he is capable of developing talent. he called LSU "CU" for a reason...
